The Amazon “Look Inside” and Google Preview service gives readers a sneak peek of your book and is included in all publishing packages that contain e-book formatting. When searching Amazon and Google, customers are able to access a limited preview of your book—about 20% of your book will be randomly selected by Amazon and Google. Readers have the opportunity to sample pages through a navigation bar as well as the table of contents and search for specific terms located within your text.
Will prospective customers be able to download my book for free?
While all of your content is included in each site’s search index, only an excerpt of your content is available for browsing. No one will be able to download your book for free.
How will customers buy my book?
On Google, customers can click on a Buy this Book link which will take them to your detail page in the Publishing Spot bookstore. You receive the same royalty and incur no additional cost for inclusion.
Amazon’s Search Inside! program has an Add to Cart button featured prominently on the page. You receive the same royalty and incur no additional cost for inclusion.
Will I sell more books with these programs?
While sales are never guaranteed, the more visibility your book has on the Internet, the more likely it is you’ll realize sales. Amazon reports that books sales increase, on average, nine percent for books included in the Search Inside! program.
